Friendship Festival in Burma’s Second-Largest city!
Mandalay has a 2,400-year history interwoven with the history of Buddhism. Today, out of a population of 1.3 million, 99% are Buddhist. The city suffered much during World War II, thousands died and most of the city’s houses were destroyed in battles between the Japanese and the British. The past 20 years have meant an upswing for Mandalay because of an increase in trade with China.
World Impact Ministries’ Friendship Festival, held at the large stadium centrally located in Mandalay, November 25th - 30th, is set to reach all people regardless of religion. Concurrent with the Friendship Festival there will be a seminar for pastors and leaders. All churches have joined together, though most of them are very small, and too many this campaign is an answer to prayer.
Peter Youngren says, “I am thankful to all partners and friends who make this vital gospel work possible. God’s love will touch people without discrimination.”
